Celebration and Praise Concert, Sept 28

imageBluffton United Methodist Church will present a “Celebration and Praise Concert” featuring our Praise & Worship Team and guest artists The Inspirational Messengers and Lavon Stevens on Sunday, September 28 at 4 p.m. The concert is free and open to the public.

The performance will include praise selections by the following composers and arrangers: Lavon Stevens, Mark Hayes, Edwin Hawkins, Chris Tomlin & Louie Giglio, Glenn Burleigh and Jack Schrader.

Bluffton United Methodist Church is located at 101 Calhoun Street in historic downtown Bluffton. The church is handicapped accessible and free parking is available.

Annual Women’s Day – Saint Mark UMC

“Jewels For Jesus” – Women’s Fall Retreat

sisters2logo01Come join the women of the Lowcountry for a day retreat called “Jewels For Jesus”  based on Malachi 3:17.

The retreat is Saturday, October 11, 9 a.m. – 4 p.m, at the Oldfield Outfitter Center in Okatie SC.  The guest facilitator is Jeannelle Benek.

An Evening of Jazz

jazz01The Music and Arts Ministry of Church of the Palms in Okatie proudly presents the Sun City Jazz Band in “An Evening of Jazz“, Friday, October 17, 7 p.m. to 8:15 p.m. at Church of the Palms.

This is a free program of great jazz favorites for all to enjoy. Invite your friends and neighbors to delight in the standards and jazz classics from the 1920′s through the 1950′s.

As serious musicians and performers, the band respects the music they play while having fun and enjoying each other’s creativity and spontaneity. The concert will present good music in a relaxed, informal, and fun style.

Arts and Crafts Festival / Pauwau

imageThe Waccamaw Indian People invite you to attend their 22nd Annual Arts and Crafts Festival and Pauwau on November 1 and 2 on their tribal grounds at 591 Bluewater Rd, Aynor, SC. Gates open at 11 a.m. both daysand Grand Entry on the 1st is at 1 p.m. and 6 p.m. and at 2 p.m. on the 2nd.

The Grand Entry is actually the start of the Pauwau. Just prior to the Grand Entry, the Grass Dancers are called to “Dance the Grass Down.” This ancient method is used prepare the arena for the actual entry of the visiting dignitaries, veterans, tribal officials, and others who hold positions of honor.
